ST-504 support guide
What should you do when an ST-504 display symbol is unclear?
Record the symbol and physical state before changing controls or contacting support.

Capture the message
Record the exact symbol and preceding action.
Check power
Battery, cable, tubing, and sleeve come first.
Escalate safely
Do not disassemble or test an abnormal device.
Treat the display as a product-information question first. Record the exact symbol or message. Note which button was pressed, whether the controller was charging, and whether the sleeve was connected. The current instruction for use controls the meaning of the display.
Do not guess from a familiar icon
Power, heat, vibration, pressure, battery, and session indicators can look similar across devices. A symbol from another product may not mean the same thing on the ST-504. Do not infer a fault or a medical meaning from the shape alone.
Take a clear photograph if it is safe. Write down the sequence that came before the message. This gives support a better starting point than “the machine stopped.”
Check the simple equipment causes
Confirm the battery state and charging connection. Check the cable and controller. Inspect the tubing and sleeve connection. Make sure the controller is dry and that the device is not being operated while charging.
The battery and charging guide covers power-specific questions. The troubleshooting guide covers observable device faults. Neither page interprets a new body symptom.
When to stop immediately
Stop for smoke, unusual heat, visible damage, pain, increasing numbness, a new skin change, or behavior that does not match the manual. Do not press several buttons to clear an unfamiliar message. Do not restart at a stronger setting.
If the message remains after the manual’s documented checks, contact support. Do not disassemble the controller or attempt an internal repair.
What to include in a support message
Include the model name, battery state, selected mode, pressure label, session duration, and the exact display wording. Add whether the sleeve was connected and whether the message appeared during charging or inflation. This record is more useful than a guess about the body.
What the display cannot tell you
A display symbol cannot diagnose swelling, circulation, pain, or a neurological problem. It only reports product state or control state. When the question is medical rather than mechanical, use the safety guide and seek appropriate professional guidance.
Support is more likely to identify the issue when the report includes the battery state, selected mode, pressure label, session duration, and the exact moment the display changed. Keep the original wording of a code when possible. Do not paraphrase a symbol into a medical explanation.
Source boundary for display symbols
The model manual controls the icon meanings and troubleshooting steps. General FDA medical device information does not decode an individual controller message.
