ST-504 safety guide
What changes after an injury?
An injury question needs more than a device setting and may require care-team guidance.

Separate the questions
Equipment behavior is not injury assessment.
Check the manual
Follow warnings and intended-use limits.
Do not self-test
Pain or swelling should not be tested with pressure.
After an injury, a reader may ask whether compression could make the leg feel more comfortable. The product page can describe the sleeve and controls. It cannot assess tissue injury, swelling cause, circulation, or the stage of healing.
Keep the care plan ahead of the device
Ask the treating clinician or care team about timing, wound status, movement limits, and compatibility with the care plan. Do not use a general article to override a restriction. Do not choose a higher pressure because soreness remains.
The safety guide covers non-use and stop signs. The setup guide covers physical placement only. It is not injury clearance.
Stop signs during a session
Stop for increasing pain, new numbness, worsening swelling, skin color change, unusual heat, visible damage, or unexpected operation. Do not restart to reproduce the event. Keep the device off while a significant concern is assessed.
If the issue is clearly mechanical, record the display, battery state, tubing, sleeve position, and timing. Use the troubleshooting guide for equipment support without guessing at the medical cause.
What the page cannot promise
Compression comfort is not the same as injury recovery. A comfortable session does not prove that the device is suitable. A difficult session does not identify the injury. The current manual and the relevant professional assessment remain separate sources.
A useful question for the care team
Ask what area may be covered, when use could be considered, which symptoms require a call, and whether heat or vibration changes the plan. Write down the answer instead of relying on memory. The product page can then help with setup after the care decision has already been made.
For general regulatory context, consult FDA medical device information. It does not replace the care team.
Before any future session, keep the care-team answer with the device instructions. Note whether the sleeve may cover the affected area, whether heat or vibration is excluded, and which symptom requires a call. A clear written boundary prevents a general product article from becoming an improvised rehabilitation plan.
If the answer is uncertain, uncertainty is the result. Pause. Do not fill the gap with a familiar pressure label or advice from a different product. The device can be reconsidered after the care team has defined the permitted use and stop conditions.
