ST-504 care guide

What does clean and dry device care require?

Protect the controller, sleeve, tubing, and charging path without treating IP22 as waterproofing.

Power off first

Follow the manual before cleaning.

Keep electronics dry

Moisture boundaries apply to controller and cable.

Inspect after care

Do not use visibly damaged equipment.

Turn the device off before cleaning. Let it cool when the manual requires it. Use the current cleaning instructions for the sleeve and controller. Keep liquid away from the main unit, cable, charging port, and connectors.

IP22 is not permission to immerse the device

The IP22 guide explains the limited moisture boundary. It does not mean waterproof. Do not use the controller in a shower, pool, wet floor, or heavy splash environment. Do not test the rating with water.

Check the parts after cleaning

Look for liquid entry, cable damage, loose connectors, damaged tubing, or a sleeve that no longer sits correctly. If liquid enters the controller, stop using it and contact support. Do not open the unit or use a stronger setting to test it.

The cleaning and maintenance guide covers routine care. The troubleshooting guide covers unexpected operation after cleaning.

What not to improvise

Do not immerse the sleeve or controller unless the current instructions explicitly allow it. Do not use solvents, force liquid into a connector, or operate the unit while a charging port is damp. If cleaning changes device behavior, stop and record what was cleaned, how it was dried, and what happened next.

Storage matters after cleaning. Do not wrap the cable tightly around the controller. Do not fold the tubing into a sharp bend. Keep the parts in a dry place where the sleeve will not be crushed.

If the device will not be used for a while, follow the manual’s battery and storage instructions instead of leaving it connected indefinitely.

Before the next session, inspect the same parts again. Clean and dry care is complete only when the equipment is dry, intact, and ready to stop safely.

General FDA medical device information provides context. The ST-504 instruction for use controls the exact cleaning method.

Drying is also part of the check. Leave the controller and charging path in a dry place. Do not reconnect power while a port, cable, or connector is damp. If the sleeve was cleaned, confirm that it is fully dry and free of folds before storage. A clean-looking surface does not prove that liquid has not entered an electrical part.
